Creation of a crisis unit: SOS Earthquake Solidarity Morocco
The Kingdom suffered an earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale on the night of September 08 to 09, 2023. This was the most powerful earthquake ever measured in Morocco, affecting numerous regions and causing thousands of casualties.
In the immediate aftermath of the natural disaster, the Fondation Orient-Occident mobilized all its resources to identify the essential needs of the stricken population, and to respond urgently. As it does through international cooperation, the Foundation is mobilizing substantial funds, which it will redistribute with the transparency and rigor demanded by such a humanitarian disaster.
In coordination with the local authorities and associations, the Foundation is deploying its network of psychologists and humanitarian assistants to help the people affected by the earthquake. A toll-free number 0800004146 has already been set up to meet the needs of the population.
